David Fiorentino, MD, PhD

David Fiorentino is a Professor in the Department of Dermatology at Stanford and has a joint appointment in the Department of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology and Immunology.  He received his MD and PhD in the Cancer Biology Program at Stanford Medical School where he studied the mechanism of action of rapamycin (sirolimus).  He completed his training in Dermatology at Stanford and has been on the faculty there since 2002.

For over 15 years, he has co-directed (along with Lorinda Chung, MD) a multidisciplinary rheumatology/dermatology clinic specializing in the treatment of patients with scleroderma.  His current research involves discovery of novel autoantibodies that are associated with important clinical features in rheumatic diseases and their mechanistic association with internal malignancy.
