November is PH Awareness Month—Learn Why Early Screening Matters

Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is one type of pulmonary hypertension (PH)—a general term for high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs. PH can have several causes, and doctors group it into types based on what’s causing it.

PAH is the type of PH most closely linked to scleroderma because it’s the only type caused directly by the disease itself. However, people living with scleroderma can also experience other forms of PH.

For people living with scleroderma, PAH is one of the most common and severe complications, making increased awareness and early screening especially important for the community. This November, let’s spread the word, champion early diagnosis, and support everyone navigating PH and scleroderma.

Explore the new PAH Awareness page on the SRF website, packed with educational resources, videos, patient spotlight stories, and upcoming webinars, all in one place.
