Dr. Ami Shah is a rheumatologist with clinical and research expertise in systemic sclerosis, as well as the connection between cancer and autoimmune rheumatic diseases. Her epidemiological and translational research studies have focused on the link between scleroderma and cancer, and the examination of rheumatic adverse events after treatment with immunotherapy for cancer.  Dr. Shah is also involved in research relating to cardiopulmonary complications of scleroderma (including pulmonary arterial hypertension and right ventricular dysfunction), and Raynaud’s phenomenon and ischemic digital ulcers. In addition to her research focus, she serves as the Deputy Director for the Rheumatology Precision Medicine Centers of Excellence clinical programs. Dr. Shah also serves as the Director of Clinical and Translational Research for the Johns Hopkins Scleroderma Center, overseeing the Center’s research database (one of the largest cohorts internationally), biorepositories, and clinical trials.
