Wei Chen is currently a Professor of Pediatrics and the Director of the Statistical Genetics Core in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received his Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the University of Michigan. He is an American Thoracic Society Fellow.
Chen’s research interests include developing statistical and computational methods for high-throughput genetics/genomics data, such as DNA sequencing, methylation, bulk and single-cell multi-omics sequencing data, and their applications to complex diseases, such as scleroderma, childhood asthma and age-related macular degeneration.
