Kheesa's story of living with scleroderma

Kheesa’s scleroderma symptoms started in 2005. She received her diagnosis two years later, after the birth of her first child. Now she’s a mother of two. “They are the achievement I’m most proud of,” she says.

Despite struggling with extreme fatigue, shortness of breath, and other scleroderma complications, Kheesa celebrates that her girls are happy and healthy. She shares that, “they’re what I’m fighting for.”

As she works hard to be present for both of her daughters, she says that, “research is introducing new medicines, treatments, and therapies that make living with scleroderma more manageable.” But, what’s most important to Kheesa is that “it will eventually lead to a cure. I’m praying that I will be here to receive it.”
