Bio

Dr. Eleni Tiniakou is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree from the Medical School of University of Athens in Greece. She pursued her post-doctoral fellowship training in rheumatology at Johns Hopkins.

Dr. Tiniakou’s research focuses on identifying and characterizing specific T cells in scleroderma and myositis, which are thought to be the immune cells that start and drive the autoimmune process. Characterizing the active T cells in scleroderma will advance our understanding of disease initiation, and our ability to monitor disease progression and develop targeted immunotherapies.
