Research is at the center of all we do here at the SRF to find a cure for scleroderma. This is why, in 2018, we launched CONQUER (COllaborative, National QUality and Efficacy Registry), a first-of-its-kind nationwide, longitudinal registry of scleroderma patients.
Let’s talk about how CONQUER works. It all starts with you—you make routine clinical visits on a semi-annual basis. Your clinician will collect a blood sample and clinical data at each visit. The biosamples are sent to the scleroderma biorepository at the University of Texas, Houston, and the clinical data will be processed and stored in a meticulously curated database at the renowned data coordinating center at the University of Utah.
Throughout this process, your information is anonymized and kept secure. Your privacy is a top priority. Once enough data is collected, researchers will use the data and associated samples to drive discoveries. To date, six papers have already been published using CONQUER data.
