Today would’ve been the 69th birthday of Sharon Monsky, the SRF’s Founder. When she started this organization, she understood that a cure for scleroderma would probably not come in her lifetime. But she knew that funding medical research was the best way to give hope to those living with the disease.

For those who knew Sharon, it’s no surprise that her passion, commitment, and ability to drive people to action resulted in the SRF becoming the leading nonprofit funder of scleroderma research in the US. She believed research was the key—and today, research remains at the center of everything we do at SRF.

Sharon’s strength and visionary insights are with us every day in the search for a cure. Her groundbreaking leadership paved the way for research advances and collaborations that continue to change our understanding of scleroderma. Sharon, you’re forever in our hearts.
