Governors Brad Little (ID) and Jay Inslee (WA) have signed scleroderma awareness proclamations and have been very supportive of Scleroderma Outreach Northwest and the Scleroderma Research Foundation. These proclamations have provided the scleroderma community with an excellent opportunity to raise awareness during the entire month of June, and we are grateful for their continued support. Dee Burlile led this effort on behalf of Scleroderma Outreach Northwest, a nonprofit organization that provides ongoing support for patients and their families afflicted with scleroderma.
“Since my initial diagnosis and involvement in the scleroderma community I have been writing proclamations, and providing training to support at the regional and national levels on the development and coordination of proclamation signings,” she says. “Proclamations are a great way to raise awareness and a great way to educate and encourage policymakers to support efforts to improve the lives of people affected by scleroderma.”
Our thanks goes to Scleroderma Outreach Northwest for advancing this proclamation!
