You Make Research Possible

As we start 2022, thank you for inspiring all of us at the SRF to remain laser-focused on our mission—finding a cure for scleroderma. And thanks to the support of our community, today we’re making progress at a faster pace than ever before:

  1. More than 550 scleroderma patients are now participating in the CONQUER Registry, the first national & longitudinal database launched by the SRF aimed at developing new therapies for systemic sclerosis.
  2. In early 2022, we take the CONQUER project to the next level of impact by welcoming four new medical centers that will begin enrolling patients in the registry. And the SRF will also begin offering a new grant opportunity for investigators who are able to use the CONQUER data in their studies to advance scleroderma research.
  3. In addition to funding over $2 million annually to support innovative research projects, we’re thrilled to report the rapid progress of a new project funded just last year which aims to increase the understanding of SSc-ILD. Researchers involved in the “Multiomics Lung Project” will be able to begin analysis on lung samples much sooner than expected, which should ultimately inform the development of new therapies.

These are just a few highlights of our progress in 2021 and how we’re ready to hit the ground running in 2022. And all of this is only possible because of caring people like YOU—thank you!
