Remembering Gay Saget

Today wouldn’t be complete without honoring the memory of another person—January 9th is also the birthday of Gay Saget, Bob’s sister who lost her battle with scleroderma in 1994. This video is from our Virtual Cool Comedy • Hot Cuisine in 2021, our last fundraiser with Bob Saget.
Last year, Bob shared this thought about how his sister inspired him:

“My heart goes out to all who have lost a loved one to this disease. No one should have to suffer as Gay did, which is why I’m committed to finding a cure and a proud board member of the Scleroderma Research Foundation.”

To honor Gay’s memory, Bob directed and executive produced a television movie for ABC that was loosely based on her story called “For Hope,” released in 1996. More than 26 years later, this film continues to raise awareness of this disease and the need for research. “For Hope” is free for all to watch here on our website.
