Advancing Research Through Collaboration: Highlights from the 2025 SRF Science Workshop

By April 5, 2025July 23rd, 2025No Comments

This past weekend, SRF’s Annual Science Workshop brought together top researchers across the country to share knowledge, spark new ideas, and accelerate progress in scleroderma research. Held on March 28 & 29, this workshop is the foundation of our research program, fostering collaboration and innovation.

“The networking that goes on between the researchers is pushing the envelope for science,” says attendee and SRF-funded researcher Dr. Kathryn Torok (Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital, pictured above). “The more we push forward with research, the more answers we will get.”

This collaborative environment is key to speeding up research discoveries and translating them into real-world patient care. Researchers, including SRF-funded investigators and new applicants, gathered to share updates, engage in discussions, and brainstorm new approaches to tackle scleroderma.

Following the workshop, our Scientific Advisory Board will carefully evaluate the projects, providing expertise to inform funding decisions.
